YIPPEEEEE!!!!!!!

Here is the letter I have been waiting on (as just stated in my last post!)
The package came today, yes package, not a single sheet folded in an envelope saying we are sorry, but a bundle of letters saying yes, you go right ahead and build that gas kiln young lady!!
So any of you out there with supply info, suggestions, hints, anything, go right ahead and send it my way. I emailed John Britt today to see if I can sign up for his August workshop so I will actually know what I am doing. Hopefully by next Spring, I will be firing here and no more hauling greenware around with me.

Congratulations! I may be of some help if you need it. Britt's class will be a good one I bet. I don't have many leads on suppliers any more other than Larkin Furnace in Ga. Anyhow give me a call sometime if you want to.

congratualtions!

yeah, definitely call larkin furnace. (www.larkinrefractory.com) i don't think you'll find a better deal on anything brickwise. they used to sell used silicon carbide kiln shelves for like $15-20, maybe they still do. i bought mine new from them for $40 each(12x24) in 2003. when i built my first kiln a few years ago they had pallets of insulating brick "seconds" for a dollar per brick. i bought a bunch and they were just as good as firsts, still have some of them in my wood kiln! i could go on and on about them, they even have a guy on staff that can assist potters in particular. britts a genius, you're in good hands and i'm sure you'll learn a bunch!

Doug: I searched back through Paul's blog for photos of his kiln. I really like the design and most especially like the shed. Paul what a great photo of you at 12, I had missed that. Sometimes it is fun to go back through older blog postings. I did this with Doug's blog the other day looking for exhibit photos. My blogging is really cutting back the number of books I have read lately!
