Thanks you guys!!! that means a lot coming from the two of you. Brandon, I can totally see why you would have a man crush!

I really like Svend's pots too. We have a nice teapot he made while at Mark's years ago. I like the thickness of his handles. I've got a man-crush on Brandon. ;-)

Hello Tracy: I enjoy Svend's pots also. I may have about a hundred or so, he is known for his large pots... and many of his smaller pots go unnoticed, but there is real genius in his smaller work also.
You are right to look at his work for inspiration.

I found a really lovely tea bowl when we visited him as part of the kiln build course - but he refused to sell it to me :( Lovely shells in the bottom, just perfect. Anyway, I bought a different one, and then copied it, and some people thought mine was better (it wasn't though.) He does these lovely cross-cut feet which I do quite a lot.

Anyway, that mug is like the one I was thinking about before - you're really pretty close to it, I think.

I'm still chuckling at Ron's comment...

Well Ron and Brandon: You are more than welcome to work out your relationship issues on my blog! Just keep up my online pottery classes and I'm fine with it :)
