She's a Winner!

Wesley has entered the Carrboro ArtsCenter annual photo contest for three years. The past two years she entered in the children's category and won first place both years. This year she had to move into the adult category, a bit intimidating for a 16 year old. But, she won third place! Look out, following in dad's footsteps. She shot this when we were in New York, looking up the stairs at the Apple Computer store at Central Park. Congrats Wes! The show is up right now in the main gallery, there is a reception Friday night from 6-8pm if you are in the area. Sadly, Gerry can't be there for the awards, he has to shoot the Hurricanes hockey game Friday night.

That is so cool! WOW - just 16 & competing with adults. The picture is fabulous -- very futuristic. I love it. I know yall must be so proud.

I do love seeing where the next generation of fine photographers is coming from. Congratulations, Wes ... and also to her parents.

Hi, Tracey. I've been on some kind of personal, non-specific hiatus that even I don't understand. But I think I'm back now, with a bisque load today, a dry-stacked gas kiln and a few last-minute pots, all for a glaze firing next week. But thanks for asking, Tracey.
