Butterflies

I made a couple of banners today for my tent at the Farmer's Market. I noticed last week that I didn't have anything indicating who I was or what I did. I don't care for the way these look photographed. They look much better in person. They were really fun to make.

Same wood cut stamp made the butterfly tiles that I raku fire. This was a Christmas gift from Wes and Gerry last year and I have gotten so much use out of it. Wish I could find some more.

Nice, Tracey. I'm doing a biggish show in Chatham in a couple of weeks, and it occurs to me that I need something like that for my own booth. Hmmmm ...

I love the banners! To me they reflect your work beautifully! I love that butterfly stamp . . .

Hi Tracey, your butterfly woodblock banners are great and such a wonderful idea. This is something I neglected the first few shows I did. Then I had a wood routed sign (too heavy and hard to mount). Now I'm trying to come up with something I can use that says me this isn't commercially made and is lightweight to carry. I used to sew but for some reason I'm at a loss, perhaps I'll use a blue heron accent. I am so glad you posted this I need to get motivated and get something ready for next week.

I think your signs look great! I got a bunch of wooden stamps at that Moroccan rug place in CH (is it still there, I wonder), and I have found some at junk auctions. The overpriced Indian clothing store at CarrMill mall has some amazing ones. Every time I go in there I beg him to sell them to me. He remains unconvinced, however. I'll keep a look-out for ya, and you are of course welcome to use mine. xo
