Shopping with John Edwards

A few years ago my daughter and my nephew decided that it would be fun to go to the mall the day after Thanksgiving. I had never done this before, the mall gives me vertigo and I can't breathe well from all of the perfume. But we went, and we had a really fun time. So now every year Gerry and I take them. Yesterday we went and my nephew wanted to go into Gamestop, probably the most crowded shop in the mall. We went in, got in line to get him a game and standing behind us in line was John Edwards and his son Jack. This is probably the first time I have ever seen the man without a smile on his face. Guess he doesn't have too much to smile about these days. Poor man. In the south, whenever we are having unkind thoughts about someone, rather than be terribly rude, we will say the thing and end it with "Bless his heart". For instance: "This man that wanted to be our country's president turned out to be a real horse's ass, Bless his heart!" I did feel rather sorry for him, there he was the day after Thanksgiving, shopping with his son in Gamestop with the rest of us fools, not once did I see him with that famous smile on his face. His face was very tan though. He is a good looking man.

He has come a long way in the past few years. Not too long ago he was a popular senator from NC and people talked about him as President. Now he's a disgrace. I do, however, hope is wife is doing well. You don't hear much about her in the media these days.

Yes, his wife is amazing - much, much smarter than he is. A woman who knows what she wants and how to get it ! She did the world a big service by outting him and I do hope that she is healthy and happy.

There is definitely a lot of hearts that need to be blessed in our Government.

It's funny, Gerry had to shoot the Carolina game the other night and he said the whole family was there, Elizabeth sitting on one row with the kids and John sitting on another row alone. I'm not so sure about her, I read her book and it's a bit strange I think. And the Oprah interview thing was a bit icky to me. She does seem to be a pretty smart woman, except, come on, kick him the hell out!!!

Tracey, I haven't read her book but I did see the Oprah interview and I think she came off as being very media saavy. Oprah didn't get anything from her that she wasn't willing to give and John did more damage to himself. I think that there are worse things than divorce and John is living it... if men can have decorations on their arms - so can Elizabeth. He probably has to be very well behaved to get his allowance !!
Not my way of doing things but hey, to each her own, bless their hearts !
