I got nothing

Beautiful shot by Gerry of the bay in Vancouver, nice huh?At least he's gettin' it done. I thought that by now I would have tons of pottery made. Gerry is shooting the Olympics and Wes has his car so there is nobody needing much from me right now. So what have I been doing? I really don't know. I painted a couple of rooms that needed it badly, I met my friend Lynden on Monday and spent a very nice morning at a coffee shop in Hillsborough talking with her, ran into my friend Laura there, visited with Hillsborough's poet laureate, got cranked up on Chai. I got a few coil pots made on Tuesday, I like them, but I felt like I was in a fog, couldn't get focused, couldn't decide on anything to make. I did manage to get a couple of show applications finished and in the mail, and shopped for groceries. Blah...... today I chaperoned Wesley's class and saw a great play at Playmakers. Arthur Miller's All My Sons. Very good show, a bit depressing, but the actors were very good. That has me in a funk now. I miss the theater soooo much. I was watching how the props were used, noticed the pants hem on one of the actors wasn't quite right, I didn't like how white one of the newspapers was, it was distracting, the lighting came down too early in the closing scene......you know, things that really don't matter, but these are the things I notice. The weather is sucking the life out of me. I hate this wind and this cold, wet soppy ground. I like being outside but it is miserable out there. Spring!!! Where are you?! and Gerry is in Vancouver where it is in the 50's and they are bringing helicopters in that are dropping snow. WTF. How do they do that? Why is it so cold here and so warm in Canada? Can you tell I have been having a bit of red wine again:)
Well, I'll tell you why..... I thought that the committee for Woods Silent Auction was meeting at my house tonight, so I picked up a nice bottle of wine, opened it up, baked some triple chocolate chip cookies, yum, and had some snacks out, then, when no one was here by 7:30 for our 7pm meeting I looked at the calendar and saw that the meeting is here next Wednesday. This is the fog I'm in. what is up with this? Is it the cold just freezing my brain cells? I should check the moon, it's probably doing something funky right now too, it's a new moon, what does that do to you I wonder? I heard coyotes howling last night.
And, I am sick to death of hearing about John Edwards. Just shut up already about his stupid ass self, ok!!? ( he just came on the TV for the hundreth time today as I was typing this).
Well, anyway, here is some very bright news: On March 5, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland will be out in theaters and I will be very happy!!!! and he is doing a remake of Dark Shadows. Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, brilliant. Did any of you watch Dark Shadows long ago? My friends would all rush home from school just in time to see it. I was terrified of this show, but pretended to love it as much as they did. Really I was just wishing it would go away. I hated the whole idea of vampires. So, are you bored with this ramble yet? Well, here is one more thing, and I'm going to bed. When we were in New York two years ago, we went into this very cool shop in Greenwich Village, across from Cafe Wha, that sold art from Nepal. We met Pimba, got his email address, and Wesley is sitting here beside me right now talking to him on Facebook while he is sitting in Nepal talking to her. Two years later. I love that! What an interesting world we are living in. Well, I will see my lovely students tomorrow and teach them how to turn a slab of clay into a beautiful tray, plate, and/or bowl so I'm off to bed. nighty night all! Sleep tight :)

it's okay to pull the covers up and not look out until the sun comes out I think today will be a day we all need- no rain- no ice- no snow and sun, sun, sun!
I am thinking bonus on not having to share the cookies and wine.....

kind of like these long red wine posts. funny you should mention dark shadows, hadn't thought about that in a very long time. we used to rush home from school to watch and we used to get all worked up just listening to the opening song. i absolutely love that song and the whole album from the previous post by the old crow medicine show. my fave lyric in that song is when he says, "if i die in raleigh, at least i will die free"... it's beautiful. love to hear wes sing it

Snow all day today in Dallas and lack of snow in Canada, What's up with that? We're not use to this white stuff here. Local art club canceled the demo I was suppose to do today because of it.
