Sad loss

Sadly, the courthouse in Pittsboro burned last night. This building was built in 1881 and had many historic artifacts and antiques that were destroyed in the fire. If you google Pittsboro courthouse fire, there are lots of videos and photos up. I couldn't get anything to load on blogger this morning so you will have to search without me! What a sad loss for the town. This historic landmark was the center of Pittsboro.

Oh no! That is so sad. I loved seeing the courthouse when I drove through there. So sorry to hear that.

It is sad -- especially to lose the history & artifacts in the fire. And what's up with the J. Edwards tape being in that building -- do they suspect arson?

Sad, indeed.

Judy: Funny you should mention that, Gerry and I both said right away, wonder if John had the place lit up! Actually they said on the news that the tapes had been moved across the street. Does make you wonder though doesn't it!

I am heart broken over the thought that all might be lost!
I spent all my life thinking about the landmark- the trip to Va- with me started when I would see the courthouse and teh trip to NC- meant going through the circle was my mark for almost home......
Just breaks my heart.
