and moving right along...........

I had a few things that I needed to Raku fire today. It was a beautiful day after raining for days and days. Nice to be outside. The pear and the tile turned out pretty good. Every time I make pears I sell them, but I forget to make them, and really I'm kinda bored with them, but I like this one, I may have to make more. I usually put a white crackle on them and that's all good, but this glaze is really cool. I also fired a bunch of beads and pendants. I'll show you some of those later, got tired of downloading pictures. Does anyone else out there get impatient with how long it takes to download photos? or is it upload?

Hey Mike, thanks! Julie, we have high speed but it seems like blogger takes forever to load pictures some days and today was one of them.

Ohhh, the raku looks great. Also, the food! It's dinner time here and I'm up and to the kitchen to make a big salad (to go with the huge pork chops my meat-eater is digging into tonight!)

upload goes to the internet.
Download goes to your computer.
Yes, check the size, it does make a difference in time.
The pear is yummy!

Thanks everyone, guess I should make more pears, maybe, maybe not. I'm not feeling it right now, we'll see....
Linda, the glaze is called Rainbow, does something different every time, a really fun glaze. This is the same glaze that was on the pieces my student Bridget made that were very blue.

Tracey, I checked your size vs a couple of my images like Ang, the pixels are around the same, but your pear is over 300KB while mine is around 18KB.

My photo software gives me 3 options to resize when I save a photo and I always choose "web/blog", and my uploads are pretty quick.

The quality isn't as good, for instance, you can double click on your pear for a nice close-up (your dinner, too...looks yummy), and mine you can't.

The larger KB pics are best for print quality, but you really can't tell much difference on a computer screen (this tidbit comes care of John Britt's photo class).

Hey Kari:
I'm just doing this down and dirty on my Mac. I drag pics from iphoto on to my desktop and then select them in blogger. There is really no option to change size unless I open everything in photoshop or photo mechanic, but I'm being lazy. Gerry keeps telling me to re size my images but I keep not doing it :)

hey trace i got this cool program called 'downsize' the ultimate in laziness just select the pics and click downsize and wammo!! but really your images aren't that big it's prob more the connection to blogger...

I do the same, Tracey. I rarely downsize, unless I know someone is on dial-up and can't take a full-size image. I love it that your images are so big, because I love seeing the details. Few things annoy me more than clicking on an image to enlarge it and having it come up the same size as it already is on the blog. My two cents ...

I know what you mean Hollis, I like the big pictures too. Some pottery is so great when you can see all of the tiny details, like yours for instance!
It's not enough of a bother for me to worry about right now, just need a little patience..........
