HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Here is a shout out to all of you moms out there. I know you are all great moms from the blogging you do about your wonderful kids. Is there a blogging mom out there that can resist putting up a post about their kids? I think not. There is nothing that I am more proud of than the accomplishments of my child, no matter how small. Thanks to all of you for joining in our daily triumphs and trials. This is one of my most favorite photos of Wes. I shot this at the Outer Banks in NC. She is such a little hippie chick. I love being her mom.
She is such a great sport. We have hauled her around all over the place since she was born. I remember taking her on a climbing trip to Looking Glass up near Asheville when she was about 8 weeks old. We made a little bed for her by piling rocks all around and laid her there while we climbed. If someone told me they did that now, I would shudder! We drove with her to the wilderness of Wyoming and Montana, took the train to New York City, flew to Montreal, she has helped me load in and strike shows when I was a designer for the Charlotte Rep, she comes and helps at the festivals and shows I do now, she has worked with her dad running film and shooting photos, and she likes hanging with us as much as she likes being with her friends. We have probably worn the poor child out, but we have certainly shown her a good time. So proud to be your mom, little girl!

Hi Tracey, I want to put the wording " Live Simply, Love Generously, Care Deeply, Speak Kindly" on the rim of a bowl if you don't mind ?

I think it is great.

Hi Liz, I checked out your blog, very nice. Hi Paul, definitely use the words, I can't remember where I picked up the quote but it would be nice on a bowl. Maybe I'll put them on a box one day...... great idea!

What a great kid and what a great Mom. All the time you have spent with her one on one is the best gift she gotten..I'm sure! And yes, misery does love company and I'm sure you can give me some pointers when my kids get to that land of being "teenagers"!

Jen, the best advise I can give you is to always be honest with your kids and remember that they are people that you care about. Treat them the way you would want to be treated. I have always lived by this with Wesley and I respect her feelings and opinions. I think that is the most important thing you can give your kid.

gosh, she's simply beautiful, Tracey. It says much about you that she loves to be with you.

M. and Amy, Wes is a good kid and such a pretty girl. Sometimes she just takes my breath, and she is completely oblivious to it. No makeup, no fussing, she just picks up the closest shirt and pants from the floor, puts them on and she is out the door. Wish I had been that way in High School:)
