Visual Art Exchange

I found out today that both of my barns were accepted for the show Scope: the North Carolina Landscape. This is the first show that I have entered and I am honored to be accepted. There have been so many reasons for not entering shows- deadlines for entry that I couldn't make, subject matter not fitting what I do, laziness..... but this one seemed like a perfect fit for me and apparently I was right!
The show is curated by Jonathan Stuhlman, the curator of American Art at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, N.C. and will be at the Visual Art Exchange Gallery from June 4-24. Here is a link if you would like to see the list of other artists and gallery information.

I have a few more barns made and need to get busy firing them! I have lots more ideas for them, just have to find the time. Today I sat in the dentist chair for two hours while instruments for torture were applied to my teeth and gums. Do they play a game amongst themselves at the dentist office to see how many horrible devices they can fit into one human's mouth or what! I had holes the size of a pencil eraser drilled in two of my teeth, and I am one miserable whiny girl right now!

Hey, congratulations, Tracey. Those barns should be a shoo-in for any show. And ... avoid the dentist at all cost.

Those barns are great!
About the teeth-----it feels like being mugged-I just just finished with my tooth today, I hope it is the last one!

Congratulations Tracey..!! the barns are wonderful. Coming from farm roots, I am always drawn to these structures too. You have made me take more note of barns in 'my neck of the woods'..Alberta has many, many barns and unfortunately soooo many are coming to 'rack and ruin' due to age and lack of t.l.c.. I am going to try to take some pictures to forward to you for the different styles from here..keep up the great work!
Good vibes on healing from the dental visit..I can relate!.
(and I willl get a new post up soon..geeezzz it has been a long time!)..Good eve.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. Dentist-yes terrible, I woke up this morning sore, Meredith it does feel exactly like being mugged! I had a cavity form under a filling and move next door to the neighboring tooth. Largest drilling expedition I have ever been through! Trish I would love some pictures of the barns and yes, it has been a long time for you posting!
