Being an artist

I saw this on someone else's blog, but can't remember where. It pretty much fits where my head goes many days. I think that I overdosed on art this week, I have been in a bit of a funk today, and then Wesley had Eraserhead for us to watch tonight. Have you seen this movie? I may never be the same.

Hi, Tracey-

I've just started follwoing some clay blogs this week, and I've been enjoying yours.

This entry reminded me a of a quote I came across at Minnesota Clay's site, from potter Willem Gebben:

"Trading intuition and creativity for something that sells isn’t a good transaction. If one’s work never provides economic security, at least one has the satisfaction of doing what feels right. Money can’t buy that.”

Hi Kelly! Nice to hear from you, I like this quote.
You guys, Eraserhead was about the weirdest thing I have EVER seen!

Eraserhead? A nightmare in black and white. It's been YEARS since I've seen it, but some scenes are still quite vivid for me. Enjoy. ;)

I'll take a pass on Eraserhead. Once 2 decades ago was enough for me.

Eraserhead - omg -- it's been years since I've seen that. Pretty bizarre. I love that Wesley brings home such diverse movies for you guys.

Have fun this week with all the visitors - give extra hugs from me & take lots of pictures.

Have I seen it? Most days my life is FROM that movie.

Anyway, I just want ed to tip you and your fans off about American Craft week coming up October 1-10, in 43 states of the US. Many states are having special exhibits and programs, and North Carolina has a HUGE number of them, particularly Asheville.
Here is a link to their website for more information (We want ...INFORMATION!):

funny list... our minds are our greatest asset and our greatest liability at the same time. eraserhead is one of only 2 movies i have ever walked out of the theater from. i still remember that damn crying baby. i wonder how many young people decided not to have kids because they thought that that was how their child might cry incessantly... that's all i remember tho.

Number two hit home like a sack of bricks. No one in my family understands what I do, I don't even know if any of them appreciate it. My honey tries his best but i have to really rely on my own interest in my work to keep me going.
