New pots in the house

I brought my new Brandon Phillips bowls home Sunday from the Clay and Blogs show. LOVE them. They are the only bowls I have eaten out of since they got here. These are the kind of bowls you love to hold, They are well balanced and fit perfectly in the "cup" of your hand. Last night Wes and I sat and watched Twin Peaks, our latest obsession, and ate Mac and Cheese in them. So nice! They even go well with Honey Smacks!
When we were packing up the show Sunday, this little pitcher just kept saying "take me home, take me home" so I did. I love Paul Jessop's work and his blog always has the greatest shots of his studio and the area around it. This man has a blessed life and his little pitcher here really reflects that. I also picked up a bunch of magnolia pods from the tree I parked beside at the Campbell House. I love these things, filled up a wooden bowl with them for a nice little autumn display on my kitchen table.
This was a funny moment on Halloween night. I wish I could have taken a better shot. These three people could not have looked more disturbed and out of place if they had tried. They were huddled together, clutching on to one another in front of the new Frank Gallery on Franklin St. I think they came down to see what this party on Franklin was all about and had no clue what bizarreness was awaiting them. They absolutely looked terrified. I just wanted to go up to them and scream "RUN"! The poor little boy looked like he was about to cry.

I was listening to everyone analyzing the vote this morning on NPR and as they talked about the local election with Richard Burr ( Good 'ol boy club) they said "well, he won because he outspent the other candidate." There ya go, if you have enough MONEY you can win, you don't even have to be able to find your way to work, just have enough money to BUY those votes. Grrrrrrr.............

Nice pots, all of them, but Gary said you can keep the magnolia pods, they are a pain in the neck if they grow in your yard as they are everywhere and the lawn mower doesn't like them. Ha.

Great pottery buys Tracey!

...the exception to the $ spent on a campaign rule would be the California's Gov. race! Rock on Jerry Brown!

I'm a little jealous that you got Paul's pitcher, I love his work.

Love those pots - they kind you'll never get tired off.

Also enjoyed your political rant - couldn't agree more.

You got some really nice pots! I laughed out loud at those folks -- you captured their faces perfectly! I don't think they wanted to be there --

I can't begin to capture my feelings on this year's election -- errrrrrgh! But yes to Cindy -- yeah for Jerry Brown!

Nice pots from the show, Tracey. I love Paul's work, too. In fact, the work of Paul, Doug and Hannah, all UK slipware potters, was some of the nicest stuff in the show.
