Trials and errors

I've been working out a few new things recently, fired the kiln yesterday, mostly full of bisque for a ^6 redux I'm doing in a couple of weeks with a friend, but I put some test tiles in and some new barns. Here are a few of the barns that came out. I lost a few, they cracked all to pieces. I also got some 6500 kelvin temp bulbs today for my light box, still working that out too. These seem a bit hot to me. Testing shite never ends, grrr......
this one is for our friends across the pond!

This one was white but for some reason the terra sig went very pink and I didn't like it at all, so I put this black oxide wash on it, and it's not done yet, I have a few other ideas for it....but how do you like the black? Look at the light coming through the window in the back, I love when that happens!
This barn came from the photo I posted last week of the tall black barns. I want to do a whole grouping of these, Just made this one to work out the staining.... I may like it better without the ladder though...

You never know about those colors Tracey. Over here the houses are very loud (sometimes obnoxious) colors. The pink would probably sell here. I will send you a link to some pics of local house colors... You will be going - OMG!
I like the ones you showed today. Very nice! I second Ang - I like the ladder!

you convinced me to get one of those portable light boxes......mine just arrived yesterday. Are you using one of the provided nylon backgrounds or did you get something else?

What a busy girl--great work. Like the black barn a lot. Stairs are good

thanks everyone for the comments. Nick, I went to the craft store and got several sheets of gray poster board, when they get messed up I can use them for templates and they were less than $1 a piece. I have also used the black that came with the cube but it gets really dirty really fast. And yes, I have been thinking about those bright island colors!!

There is a barn here I did not take you to-next time- that has a ladder leaning on the front and I like it.
Keep going TB- amazing!

I like the ladder too, it works with the height and adds adventure to the barn.

I'm really glad everyone likes the black barn, it was a bit out of my comfort zone for these peaceful white ones, but I really like it. I have more ladder ideas, just where to find the time!?!?

I love all the barns! - and yes that light coming in the window is really stunning!

I love the ladder/tall barn and I like the Union Jack -- the black barn isn't my favorite -- doesn't quite seem as spiritual, but that's probably only my issue lol.

Tracey, i was on side from the the Brit roofed barn!
I love the black and i love the tall one. I posted on Ron's, that i felt the picture was of the fishermen's net huts in Hastings UK, where i live. If you'd like a few more pictures i'm sure i could sort some, but inspiration doesn't often work like that, i know. You've seen the form and seen it's black and you'll take it where it needs to go. Always enjoy the blog and love the "WTF's".. i often feel the same, but then i swear we Brits swear more anyway!

The tall black one, very very special. I have times when that is exactly what I need, up the ladder, into the space and full the ladder up after me! Very beautiful Tracey.
