We took her to dinner and then went for a walk around Old Salem. If you live near and have not visited Old Salem, you should. It's a beautiful old working Moravian village. When we lived in Greensboro, I would take Wesley out of school one day every fall and we would take a trip over for lunch and a tour. We would take the horse and buggy ride, buy bread from the baker, steal cherry tomatoes and grapes from the gardens and have lunch in some grassy place. And now her school is right across the street from this wonderful place. It started raining on us and we ran into this stable to stay dry while the storm passed. I could feel the stress of the week melting from all of us as we sat there together watching the rain. Nice......
What a life, going to school with a bunch of artists and having an old Moravian village across the street for atmosphere. I am so jealous! All is well, tomorrow rest, then Monday starts a full week in the studio!
BTW, I have had no beer, very little sugar, yoga every morning and I have lost three pounds!!!!!

So pleased for Wesley! What a great atmosphere... I love the photo of you two together.
Tracey, no one stole your little girl. They traded you a nearly grown independent young woman for her.Our son was king of Marietta College for 4 years and I know what you mean about being jealous. It was a time full of opportunities that he would have never seen if he had stayed home and the last 10 years have been full of success because of it.
love the pics Tracey! glad you all had a great day. xo
Hey Patricia, yes nice atmosphere to just relax and have a nice visit.
Dennis, you are right, she is definitely an independent young woman now, just what we wanted her to grow up to be, glad to hear success stories from other parents :) Hey Laura, it was a good day, too short, but fun to see her!
That first photo of you too is really great. I love towns with history we just got back from one here I'll post about one of these days. How exciting for Wesley, reminds me of my college days.
Sweet pics of you all. You're so lucky Wes is just a little drive away. And Yay! Monday! Aren't we lucky to have such great jobs?
hi Linda, yeah lots of history in Florida. I used to love St. Augustine, but I think it has probably changed a lot since I was there last. Hey Susan, yep, it's nice to be able to drive an hour and see her, but she needs some space right now....
Great pics Tracey -YOU GO Girl!! She sure is your offspring :o)
ah, art school... i have such fond memories although, unlike wes, i'm not sure i really appreciated the whole adventure until after it was all over with. great pics of the dynamic duo. sofia just started 1st grade and i'm trying to figure out how to slow down time.
Hi Cindy, Wes is definitely mine, but where did she get those skinny legs!?
Jim, nothing prepares you for this hole that gets left in your life when you child goes off to college. My advise would be to discourage Sophia from ever leaving, ever!!! (just kidding, sort of ::) )
LOVE the photos of you all!
She is still and will always be your girl -FOREVER!
She is coming into her own and it is so exciting!
I'm so proud of you three... you've been popping up in my thoughts all week as I look at my critters and mull over the changes that are inevitable. You've made the transition look and feel like I've always imagined it. Bold...
Tracey, had the same traumatic experience when my son went off to college. I had no idea I would have such a reaction! It hit me when I went food shopping and picked up a big bunch of bananas and realized I didn't have to buy the whole bunch. And then when I got home and unpacked only 2 bananas, I lost it, totally! :-(
Hey Meredith, it's exciting, but hard on the parents :)
Hey Z, thanks. Try and freeze time if you can! June, I know what you mean, yesterday was the first time in years I didn't buy lunch box snacks, it was so hard! At least I know I have a lot of company :)
