I bet there were no other kids at school that got picked up by two crazy artists playing Arabic metal jams with a headless sculpture buckled in the seat beside them ! Wesley is a lucky girl haha! It's so nice to have great friends that also get along well with my kid. My friends have always been Wesley's friends. She learns a lot from them and they have a lot to give. rock on, Laura! Hope your pieces sell !!!!!

Cultural Saturday
Wesley's fall break started Saturday and she is HOME! My pal Laura was juried into a show in Winston Salem Called Cultural Crossroads so we drove to Winston Salem on Saturday, picked up Wesley, had lunch in town and dropped off Laura's work at the gallery. It was a perfect fall day, Laura brought great tunes for the CD player, including some heavy metal arabic music, so much fun! Reynolda House also has an exhibition of the Smithsonian's collection of modern art so we went to see that as well. If you are into modern art, this is a great show to see. They had several Franz Kline pieces, one of my favorite artists. We also toured the house, a mini version of Biltmore.

The sculptures are even better in person! Laura is a super star when it comes to bringing sculpture to life! Glad we had Wesley there to photograph!
Oh I see the snake skin, so wondrous, that is a big snake skin I love it. We once found a timber rattler snake skin in our pasture when we lived in Arkansas, wish I had that one, it was so big and fat. How is the skin preserved? I thought of calling my neighbor and seeing if her daugher wants this skin, if she thinks it's too morbid or some such I'd like to preserve it. So wonderful the symbolic meanings contained.
Glad to see the cops keeping an eye on you guy's
Hey Linda, I don't think it was preserved, I suppose one day it will just evaporate :)
Yes, Paul, we needed a little traffic control carrying a native ancestor with exposed privates across the street, haha!!
