weekend textures

I took the house with the door knob to it's new home today, thanks to my wonderful new collectors, Larry and Sandy, for giving it a beautiful new place!! Lucky for me they live close to the NC Art Museum so I spent a rainy afternoon walking around enjoying the museum, then went over to the Raleigh flea market and found a new little china girl..... treasures everywhere!

Tracey, I am actually REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU! I am loving what you are doing and Incan tell you love making the work too! I think you are starting to enter the " Be careful what you wish for" Zone... No w that your work has reached people...it reaches ALL KINDS of people and you have to attend to everyone's agenda...same issue with the blog...So, keep your head high SISTAH...AND don't give away ALL of your secrets with the work...TRACEY BROOME HOUSES are TRACEY BROOME HOUSES for a REASON. TRACEY BROOME made them and I would encourage others to find their OWN voice intheir OWN "houses"....Isn't that what it is all about?

Hey Judi, thanks for your very kind words. I think the only secret to my work is that I only put out there pieces that I love, that's the real secret to art, do what you love!!!

Yes, Tracey! I'm glad you spread the love and keep (or chuck what you don't like) We don't need anymore bad pots or houses in the world. No one can really copy work and if they try, what a compliment. If its true that we are all one, then what's the big deal about being territorial about being so individuated that it's impossible to share commonality? What we are doing here with clay is not rocket science.

Great vid, Tracey. Where did you find that wall of heads?

Hey Hollis, the heads are an installation piece at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh, it's one of my favorite things there.
