To you blogger lovelies!

Ok, let's try again. I wanted to end my day on a positive note since I had a brief mental episode earlier today. Yes, three posts in one day, yes, I need a laptop intervention, yes, Gerry was not here to help me edit myself and my temper. But you, my friends, are out there to help me get through these insane rants I go on without thinking. I just go into a rage and nothing can be done. I went back out to my studio after having my little fit and tried to understand why this thing has me so angry. I am a grown woman, I should behave better, I certainly taught my daughter to behave better. But I am my mother's child, and trust me you would not want that woman mad at you! She once through a brick at her brother, yikes!
I do apologize to you for the profanity, if you were offended by it. Wes really does not like it when I use my "bad words" and I should edit better. I'm sure I have customers out there saying WTF?!
But man, I was so mad. Why, I ask, was I mad? I have tried to understand this and get over it, but a button sure got pushed today, didn't it?! Thanks to you for articulating for me what I was not able to in my unreasonable state of mind. You all said what I should have said very well, and I thank you for having my back! I still don't think this is right, I know there are those that will be pissed at what I said, well bring it on, I asked for it, didn't I? I am sitting here in my cozy living room, having a Red Stripe and thinking about this bizarre blog world. So many of you I have never met, but I respect your work, I love to read your blogs, and it is so fun to meet so many of you with out ever really meeting you. Those of you that are customers or just readers, glad you are checking in. I just wanted to say thanks for the supportive comments and thanks for the emails too. None have been mean.... yet.... so thanks for that as well!
I did manage to have a productive day in the studio.
The finials are going to work out, must get more of these, new house designs too. This could be endless....
I finished up Gena's family commission today. Finally......
Into the oven, bake at 350 for 12 hours  and serve warm. (not really)
Fingers crossed the coming apart thing has been corrected, last firing was all good, so we shall see. Soon these will be family heirlooms.
I will be checking out the Nasher Museum exhibit tomorrow, Alexander Calder and Outsider art, so that should keep me out of trouble for at least a day. Thanks for having my back, ya'll!!  xo

I will be the first to comment.
Yay.
Sounds like bad mood averted...avoided?
Well... over...
LAUGHED OUT LOUD at "threw a brick at her brother"...
I have my reasons...
(no I have not done that ...YET... I am only 43...)
Meanwhile,I love what you are doing... incorporating ceramics and found object art... Very "mixed media" of you... and so far, not in a very scary, political , extremist way...

Hey Judi! I seem to be tethered to my computer today, sad isn't it! Yeah, my mom, I have seen her in some major rages, not a pretty sight! I'm afraid I don't see the edgy art coming out of me. I like pretty, I was a designer after all. I think I would feel like a poser doing edgy political art, but I like it, wish I could do it, have thought about doing it. But, it just doesn't fit right now. Maybe someday. I did have a gallery request some things and remind me that they don't sell edgy. Hope they don't read my blog today :)

You have simply stated what so many of us have gone through....one of the worst things about plagiarism is the feeling of helplessness....and the self rightousness of the plagiarist when confronted. Do these persons really believe that no one will notice? (You may have noticed that this is rather a sore point with me.)

There was nothing offensive in your posts.....I glad you got it off your chest. And besides the copy is a piece of crap!

Hey Smartcati: you are a perfect example, you made a very lovely house that came from your own experience and it was great. It's not like I am saying no one is allowed to make houses, that is not what I mean, although someone did twist this around awhile back. You are so right, it's the helpless feeling and the righteous indignation of the one that is copying that makes me crazy! Thanks for understanding!!

Oh yeah, Meredith, beer and chocolate!!!!!

Ooh, a Tracey rant! I love Tracey rants! There hasn't been one in a while, I thought maybe you had been tamed. I love them because then you remind me of Morrissey or Ani DiFranco, you will say what everyone is thinking, but won't say, but it needs saying.
Plagiarism? Where? I don't see a house that comes close to resembling yours, all I see is a third grade atttempt to copy your style. I'm sure your houses have 'it', in person even more so than in pictures.
You know what they say, 'Often imitated, never duplicated.'
Now if I could only find out who made that other "house" I'd gladly help in your anti-plagiarism fight.
As Tim Gunn says "Go go go!"

Well, Kevin, first of all I do love TIm Gunn! So, perfect quote to make me smile. Not tamed, just stewing until I explode these days, obviously, I was trying to be all mature and professional but apparently I'm not cut out for that. This has been coming for a long time, other things besides this photo, it was just the catalyst I suppose. I wish more people would speak up and say what they think then I wouldn't feel like my you know what was out there blowing in the wind all alone :)
Oh well, I guess someone has to be the one. No names, that wouldn't be nice.....

I love all of it, Tracey, and--although this probably isn't very heartening for you--I am relieved to not be the only blogger out there who loses her sh** and lets it dangle a little bit once in a while. Whew! (btw, I thought you were totally justified...but also that the other sculpture didn't hold a candle to your gorgeous pieces. so there.)

Thanks Yolande! I just need to learn to use my grown up words when I have a fit :)
I was just a tad immature, haha!
Loved your video by the way!!

Genas' family village is as usual ovely. What a contradition you are;your houses invoke such a sense of calm and peacefulness when I see them and then......Wow. I do love both the Traceys and do know what you mean but I missed the picture so i am a litte befuddled as I can truly say I have never seen anything close to your work anywhere else.I think we can't help but be who we are and it always shows in our work. So I am sure if a person with no talent copied you their inability was very evident. So you should just keep on ,keeping on with who you are.

Well, thank you! I do like the calm me best, some days I should just keep my mouth shut! I am very excited to see Gena's pieces complete!
