Another house finds a home and other things....

I have been having a tiny pity party since I can't seem to get any work made and the work I have out there took a whole bunch of my energy and I want all of the pieces to have happy homes, and I have a show in about four weeks and, and, and..... then I got this email today from Sandy at Lark and Key in Charlotte, and  all is well now :)

Hi -
Just wanted to let you know we just sold another house.  Image attached.
I have an image of this one in an ad (Charlotte Home & Garden).  Got a call from a woman today that had picked up the magazine and fell in love with it.  She called then came right over and bought it.

Now I ask you, is this an amazing gallery or what!? Snapped me right out of the blues! They have sold two of my houses, and they have only had them for a short time, so I am very happy with this relationship so far!!
Thanks Sandy:)
I loved this little doll that I got from a collector in Asheboro and almost kept it for myself. It has such a sassy face, hard to part with, like all of them.

We went to help move Wesley's stuff out of her dorm today and it was sort of bittersweet. I'm so happy that she is coming home for the summer, but it seems like just yesterday, wasn't it just yesterday? that we were moving her IN to her dorm. Here we were back in August, dropping Wes off at UNCSA and loving the fact that her check- in was in the movie theater where her film classes would be. So much has happened since this photo was taken, my girl is all grown up now......time is flying by and there isn't a thing I can do about it.....
To make the week even better, I got this beautiful, amazing necklace in the mail from Nina Bagley.
I read her blog Ornamental and drooled excessively over this necklace when she blogged about it, so it came to me, and I am so excited to have it. Nina's jewelry is some of the best I have seen, she puts so much of herself into her pieces, just like the true artist that she is. You will be seeing this around my neck quite a bit for awhile. Thanks Nina, I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Mother's Day is coming up if you need an excuse to get a wonderful piece of jewelry and she has a nice Etsy shop for your convenience :)

So the week is shaping up after all, tomorrow I will be in the studio all day, and I am NOT coming out until I have some work completed! And Wesley comes home tomorrow, YAY!!!!

the college years will fly by... the school year is short but intense and they have that nice long break at Christmas. Wes will be busy with her own stuff this summer and you will have plenty of time to make work.
Does she have a job for the summer? My daughter did some fun/interesting summer jobs when she was in college and I think they helped her later in life.

I checked. It WAS yesterday. It was also yesterday that we sent our first one off(in 1996).

Hey Michele, I know, it seemed like Wes was home more than she was at school, she had a lot of breaks. Summer job? hahaha!!! She does have a couple of screenplays to work on, but nay on the job. lots to keep her busy though, vacation this summer, visiting all the grandparents that never get to see her, visiting college friends.... she does work study at school and works her ass off in her classes so she kinda needs a break :)

Yay on the sale! Sweet!
And, yep, those college years go zooming by... Mine is due to have a bambino any second. His wife was actually due yesterday. I just keep having flashbacks to when he was a baby. It's like yesterday and like forever-ago all at the same time... Meanwhile, I'm working at staying in the "now"... Life is interesting.

Patricia, I soooo know what you are saying! And you are going to be a grandmother? Exciting! But you are way toooo young for that :). I hope there will be lots of pictures of the new baby!

Congratulations, they do seem like an awesome gallery.

It'll seem like only tomorrow when you attend Wesley's graduation.

Yay for selling houses! (Love the one pictured above, so much!). And what an *incredible* necklace!

And thank you for all your posts about Wesley. I am pretty good at appreciating our chaotic life with littles. But hearing these tales of kids growing up definitely helps to keep me in the now. Time flies when you're having fun!

thanks Lori, yeah, Lark and Key really works hard at promoting themselves and their artists I think. That is so important!
Hey Yolande, yep-just check in here for signs of things to come in your life with your little ones :) It's all good, every age is fun and different!

sales are good!
The look on that wee dolls face is wonderful- he looks as if all is right with the world and he is ready to take it all on. I can even hear him whistle as he struts away,
Lovely as usual.
It goes so fast now- so very, very fast!

Thanks Meredith, he is a sweet guy. I loved him when I found him and sort of wish I had kept him, but he is making some one happy :) Life is good!!

Congrats, Tracey! I'm not surprised that house sold. Your work is beautiful. Any bowls to show? Would be fun to see.

Tracey Broome said...

Amy I do have a few bowls, not much though, I'm a bit rusty on the wheel and I have to get these houses finished for the show in June. I'll try to shoot some pics for you :)
