This is when you start to eat your limbs

I told Wesley this morning that I am going on day three of not sleeping and her reply back to me was "isn't this when you start to eat your limbs?"
Whatever that means, I live with an interesting child.....
The firing yesterday was nearly perfect. I have definitely stopped the houses from wanting to pull themselves apart, the slab rolling issue was exactly the problem. I did make one mistake, which I told you about in the last post. I designated the nest piece as a favorite and so of course it tried in vain to kill itself, but only a minor issue that a little glue took care of. Ha!

This piece is absolutely beautiful and I could not be happier. It was chosen this morning for my donation piece to the NC Pottery Center's auction in Seagrove. One of the reasons I chose this piece is because Susan Meyers gave me the glass door knob, and Susan is a big supporter of the potters of Seagrove, well, all potters actually, and she has become a good friend through my blog.
I titled it The Memory Keeper. It can be yours, just come to the auction, whenever that is, more details to come on that.
I have one other of these that will be for the Lark and Key show.

So all is well here, except for the sleep thing, but it is amazing how long I can go with no sleep. I think I might doze from about 4am-6am, so I guess that can be called a morning nap.
Oh, one other bit of news, not only does the Piedmont Craftsmen show send you a reject email, they follow up with a reject letter, so you get a slap down twice, and not even on the same day. The letter comes after you have made peace with the email....... not pleasant, but so what, I'm just going to open Etsy back up!
Anyway, I'm good to go. Heading down to Seagrove to take this piece and meet my great pal Meredith from Whynot Pottery for some lunch at a really good Thai place nearby, then Wes and I are going riding out in the country to see some barns!
Happy day everyone. Thanks for stopping by for a visit!!!! Peace, ya'll

When Jeff was rejected by Piedmont they said it was because of his photos... which was totally ridiculous because they were all professionally taken by a well known photographer that specializes in photographing art work. He just laughed and let it roll off his shoulders... I was the one that was upset!

I love this piece... so much. thanks for the kind words. I love thinking of you creating, as I am working in my "basement" studio! I love how over the couple of years I have been following your blog, your work has evolved as you have evolved. Beautiful.

I know Michele, my photos were taken by a professional too, I just think they have too many potters, have you seen all of them?
Hi Andrea, thank you, glad you keep coming back for the crazy posts:). Just think I used to work out on my DECK!

That is a cracking piece! Lovely.

Not sleeping well is a pain. It is surprising how well you can sleep between 4 and 6am...but you do need a bit more than that!!

gz, I have never been a sleeper, I guess your body gets used to it, but I could sure use a good night's sleep with all the work I have been doing lately!

Headed to Lark and Key tomorrow! :) Glad you'll have your work there, if not already.

if I had as little sleep, I'd go postal... probably on myself! there are rather benign pharmaceuticals that can get you over the hump, ya know. sometimes when I am in the throes of an intense art jag, I can't sleep for all the ideas poking at me... maybe that's it! xo

That piece is really beautiful. I love it.... Regarding lack of sleep, you'll catch up when the excitement has mellowed out. I love Wesley's comment, but no limb-eating allowed!

Tracey...your work is beautiful! I hope to get up to Lark and Key to see it. I've never been one to sleep well...toss and turn...up and down thru the night. About two weeks ago I started taking calcium and magnesium supplements every night for an inflamed tendon. I've been sleeping like I've been drugged! Guess there is something to the ol' "a glass of warm milk" for sleep!

Thanks y'all:)
Jody, I have an inflamed tendon as well, maybe I should check out the supplements. Hope you make it to L&K, would love to meet you!
