But first, a thank you!

I picked up parcels at the post office today from vacation holds and had more fun surprises. Sandy at Lark and Key sent me a couple of door knob plates and one of her beautiful necklaces.
The photo of the necklace is not that great, sorry, I'll shoot another later to show you how pretty it is. I opened the package at the post office and was putting it on before I pulled out of my parking space. I just love it!
And look at this plate! I love the design and already have an idea for it. Now I may be getting back into my studio sooner than I thought!
I also had an email from her saying that she had sold another piece. I'm averaging about one sale a week there, very nice. If the galleries I am in were in a race, Lark and Key would be ahead by a mile! Just goes to show you what good promotion and hard work can do for your business. Thanks so much Sandy for the nice surprises!!!! I love them and will make good use of everything!

I also had a nice surprise from blogger Scott Garrett. I commented on one of his blog posts back in March about this drawing he posted and he very kindly sent it to me, along with a couple of extras and another drawing. The shipping parcel was almost as great as the items inside!
I love this drawing, I love the colors, the patterns and the moment. I just think it is the coolest thing and I really love the art Scott creates. I still think he has a huge future as a really great potter, very original and creative pottery posts when he makes something from clay, which is not frequent enough....Scott!
Thanks so much for sending this package to me, I still wish you would let me pay you for your art. Maybe I will have to order some of your cards when you get them ready!!!

I do have lots of Maine photos, but I wanted to give these two a shout out first,
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!  both of you :)

The texture on that plate is beautiful. Can't you just imagine the house it adorned. Actually, I guess you're just thinking about the house it will adorn. Things like that speak to me of history and makers.
Most people hate getting the mail because it means ads & bills, you must love it.

Lori, I LOVE getting mail. It wasn't always the case, there used to be massive credit card bills when I was traveling all the time, but these days I get postcards from potters, checks from galleries and little gifts from bloggers. What could be better! I am absolutely thinking about the house the plate will go on next!

Good to see you got them Tracey. There's a real pleasure to be had from giving things to people who care about them, so don't worry about that.
You're right about my pottery, I have been very neglectful this year. I'm just about ready to start firing in my kiln and that will really kick things off again. I'd got to a point where there was no point adding more dry pots to the shelves until I could actually see how they would come out.I have made a few things, but thought everyone was tired of seeing my pasty unfired pots. Hopefully, depending on my helper, I'll fire something in the next week or two. A blog post will be coming on that.
Great to hear about your steady sales!!

Hey Scott, I know what you mean, it is a pleasure to give away things you make to people that will love them. I'm hoping to do some antique shopping this weekend for a frame suitable! Lets see some pottery!!
