A good week

It's been a good week, so I baked 3 dozen oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies today to celebrate. They look pretty in my Joseph Sand bowl don't they? Gerry made it through the Democratic convention without getting arrested or hurt by protestors, he shot some great pictures, and he is home finally. Wesley called and she is having such a great time in school. Her concentration is now screenwriting and cinematography, her teacher for cinematography is Michael Chapman, he filmed Taxi Driver with Robert DeNiro and lots of other great films. She called this week to tell us her visual storytelling teacher brought in the mold for the Pinhead from the Hellraiser movie, he was the graphic designer. It's so cool that Wesley is getting to study with such talented people and have so much fun in school. She has started crewing on sets so we probably won't see much of her for awhile now. Gerry loves those pinhead movies and finally convinced me to sit through one of them last night. God almighty, Clive Barker, you have a strange mind! I liked it, but those films are really disturbing!
Three dozen cookies, a dozen stars
eight barns, all of them already spoken for
two little ornaments, probably the only two, did not much like making these little pains in the ass
one of these, just to see, much better, I like the feel of this one
I made one of these to test out the plaster mold I made. I really like this but I can't decide whether to use my white terra sig or a raku glaze. I really like it just like it is.....
love all the marks from making it. That's the thing I like about hand building, it's hard to get these random marks with wheel work. Marks on my wheel thrown pieces have to be made deliberately, these come whether I want them to or not.
So, I have had a pretty productive week. Besides all of this, I made a bunch of test tiles and a few slab plates just to see... ready to load the kiln now, but we have bad weather coming today, so I will probably wait until tomorrow to load and then fire on Monday. Thanks for all the comment on the blogger word verification. Maybe someone from blogger will pick up on it and DO something!
Happy weekend!

It is almost beer thirty, for sure! I feel like I don't get anything accomplished and then I write down what I did all week and wonder how I got that much done! A good week indeed!

Julie the light in my studio this time of year is so great, makes me want to be there all the more and yes it smells like clay in there, haha!
Amy the stars are hand built and they are for raku, I have been making them for about four years now but I only get in the mood to make them around this time of year.
