Come on blogger, enough already!

I don't know about you guys out there, but I am over this blogger word verification thing. This morning I tried to leave a comment on someone's blog and it took me seven tries!
I can't read the numbers half the time and the letters are so squished together I can't tell what the hell they are. It's especially frustrating if I am using my ipad since I can't half type on that thing anyway. I am about ready to stop leaving comments. Thankfully some people have turned theirs off or have moderation. I turned mine off. Since I have had a blog I have only had one spam comment and it was even sort of a funny one so I'm willing to deal with that rather than have people suffer through these stupid puzzles. Come on blogger! Find a better way!!!!
(and I know, someone is going to say I wouldn't have this problem on facebook, haha!)

I turned off my word verification and I am getting more spam. The up side is I now know where to buy ritalin, viagra, valium and vicodin without a prescription!

I still have mine on because of the spam issue...UGH~ spam or blindness? why make us choose?!

Starting about a week ago I can't get past the word verification on anyones blogs... and some were simple words so I knew I typed them correctly. The more you try the tinier and more obscure the words have gotten.
I turned mine off awhile back and have only gotten a handful of spam. It's not a big deal for me, I just delete it.
I can't figure out how to contact blogger to let them know that I can't comment on any blogs with word captcha... anyone know how to solve this?

It took me a couple of tries to leave a comment yesterday. I really had no idea what I was looking at.

Thanks for bringing this up Tracey, i really hadn't thought about it before, but mine is off now. I'll see how it goes. I tweaked a few other bits while i was at it, have to see if it makes any noticeable difference.

I have not left comments because of the word verification hurdle many times or I struggle with it get past it and my comment is still not received.
Word press filters my spam. I just delete it once a week or so. Also, I have to approve comments before they are published. But once I approve an author they can comment without approval.

If one number why not two sets of numbers- might make it better.
I think they are cahoots with the eye doctors.

I just do moderation myself, it's nice to my readers and very little extra work for me. I guess if I got hundreds of comments it would be worth it. The other day I was leaving a comment on someone's blog and the image was not of a number or a letter!? How is anyone supposed to type that?

Thank you for turning it off.

Thank goodness it's not just me -I thought it was because I just turned 50 and can't see anymore!! Oh, BTW you wouldn't have this problem on Facebook...

I have a hard time with them also, and I never get them on the first try. Maybe I'll try turning them off and see how much spam I get.

oi vey...i'm with you trace and yes I have brought it up in blogger forums they really are killing the spontaneity!! blogger will automatically pick up most spam and send it to the spam bin!! :))

I swear they are making them more and more difficult to read! More than once, I've finally given up! Frustrating!

tracey- how do you turn the word verification off? I'm clueless about these things- ugh!

I agree with you guys, and I do think they are getting more difficult. Amy, click on design, upper right hand of your page, go to settings, then post and comments, then to moderation, click never.
