This morning I realized I was walking around drinking out of two mugs. I made a pot of coffee and grabbed this really most beautiful Alex Matisse cup, that I got in trade when I worked down at Mark Hewitt's pottery scrubbing and sanding pots. That was so much fun, I wish I had time to still do that. I worked for pottery, so I have some great pieces. I like this cup for our press pot, because usually Gerry is here and makes the coffee, gets his cup and I come along later for my cup. This cup holds just the amount that is left and it stays nice and warm because of the shape. Not to mention the pleasure you get from drinking amazing coffee from a gorgeous cup.
Have a most lovely day, ya'll, I plan to!

Nice pots, Trace. I love seeing pots used. You know, a couple of weeks ago a buyer apologized to me and then said, "I use your cups to drink coffee from." He thought I expected the pot he bought from me to be on display somewhere. Cracked me up.
Funny Hollis.
Yes, I love that you use your pots- those are great mugs.
Everyday we (I) pick one here.
Mark has one that I am going to have to "drop" he is hanging on to it like a baby with a pacifier- it is his favorite for the past year??
Good looking mugs!
I am always ready to fall over when a customer asks can I use this mug, teapot, bowl etc. for flowers (or whatever)? I try to keep a straight face when I explain that the item will be theirs and they can put whatever they want in it.
Since I came back from L.N.H.C. show and found Jeff's older mug, I have been unpacking and using more of my many mugs. They don't go into the studio or outside as that is a disastrous combo for me.
I love that Alex Matisse mug, I think I would be using that one a lot too. I have a small plate of his and I use it for breakfast everyday.
Your comment about it keeping your coffee warm reminds me of a story from a few years ago. Jeff sold a women a mug at a craft fair. A few weeks later she called him and said that it didn't keep her coffee any warmer than her store bought mug and that she would like to return it. He said fine. She paid to ship it back and he sent her a refund (not including what it cost her to ship it back). What a nut!
Use it all if it breaks go back and buy more.

These ceramic mugs are looking so traditional. I like to drink coffee or teas in these type of mugs which are stylish and traditional.
