I bought a LeClerc loom today from my weaving teacher. She is giving up teaching for personal reasons and she is selling a bunch of her teaching looms, so I got a verrrry sweet deal on this one!
I now own a loom. A really nice loom.
Weavers say that your loom finds you. This whole weaving thing has come to me in such a weird way. One day, a couple of months ago, at the local thrift store I found a little table loom for $3. That afternoon I had an email from the local arts council about a weaving class nearby. I signed up for the class and loved it. This past Saturday I was talking to Wesley about my class and I told her that I was going to have to buy a loom, but had no idea how I could afford one or where I would find one. As I was talking to her, I opened up an email from my teacher asking me if I wanted to buy the loom I was using. I finished my first two scarves today, worked about 6 hours and loved the peace and rhythm and tactile beauty of the cloth.
Now to figure out how to combine weaving and clay.
My houses took a new turn on Saturday. The ones I have been making may be some of the last of their kind. I have some new thoughts and I have a loom, haha! Once I get my scarves off the loom I'll show you!
Have a happy week.........

Yes indeed!!
Don't you all wan to buy scarves... hmmmm.....
I truly believe that what you ask for in this universe will come to you! Positive thinking and actions bring good your way, dwell on negativity, and that's what you get...
happy weaving to you!
Congratulations. The universe keeps speaking to you about weaving. I have no doubt it will weave it's way into your clay (that rhyme was unintentional, sorry).
You know how to create your life! Weeeeeeee!
Sounds great Tracey, you put the thought out there and the Universe provided. I'm with the previous comments, there's definitely something to it. I've had an upturn here, since I upturned my thoughts. The weaving Gods were looking out for you, just like when i stumbled on my kiln and wheel (regardless of the stress they've caused me ever since !)
Look forward to the next updates. A Loom!!!!!!!
looking forward to seeing those scarves!!
Michele, I absolutely agree with you. This is my mantra!
Thanks Lori, it has been sort of odd the way this weaving thing came about. I have always been interested in fiber, but clay found me first :)
Susan, so do YOU!! Life is good, ain't it?!
Scott, so true, the clay Gods are certainly smiling on you, get to work! haha!
Hey Laura, as soon as I figure out what I'm doing, I'll practice on all of you, look out for amateur scarf gifts, ha!
Ahh, now you can weave some magic - just like you do with your clay :)
HAHA, Vicki, I sure hope so, one day...... at least the learning curve is less than with clay!
Congrats, Tracey! Wow. What a find.
