Be Play Dream

I love blog giveaways, don't you? I put my name in the cauldron at Be Play Dream blog and somehow, magically, my name was chosen! As I said in an earlier post, I went out looking for new blogs, after so many that I had loved and read dropped off for facebook liking and updating and all that face stuff. And I found some really beautiful blogs, like Elizabeth Bunsen's place. This is a wonderful blog, inspiring words and photographs, and a peaceful place to rest up from all the internet dribble out there.
This was my prize. Three of the sweetest little pillows. The one in front was already designated as a pin cushion, now what will the other two become? Right now they are a little sculpture on a farm table by the fireplace in our living room. I put them in this wooden tray that I have had forever and have used for many purposes over the years.
There is really no front or back because they are equally great on both sides. And they smell like a walk in the garden...... ahhhh.....

Elizabeth, thank you sooooo much, I just I love them! They will have a happy home!!!!
Elizabeth included so many little treasures along with the pillow: a piece of sea glass, some mica, some seed pods, a piece of dyed fabric that might end up getting woven into something, and a few rocks, my favorite thing to pick up. I have rocks all over the house and these fit in nicely with the collection. (the two large ones here are mine) Even the tag in the foreground is wonderful. The rocks in the first picture were on Gerry's desk when he came home the other night from shooting one of many many ball games this season. I think this is a good reminder for a hard working AP photographer!
This little package from Elizabeth really makes me treasure all of the artists out there that are working hard, making beautiful objects from their souls to share with us. Wouldn't you rather get a rock wrapped with a beautiful cord and a piece of rusty metal than a gift card from Walmart? I would. These offerings are filled with such warm and positive energy and it makes the whole experience of receiving an affirmation of this place we live and the people we live with on this Earth.
These are the gifts I have received so far in 2013. A connection with a fiber artist in Seattle that I got some beautiful handspun yarn from, little buttons from a potter in Canada, sweet wonderful pillows and earth treasures from a fiber artist in the Northeast, a fantastic lunch prepared by my potter friend Barbara and a great afternoon of visiting, a walk in the fields down at Whynot with great friends Mark and Meredith and a homemade beer afterwards, coffee, brunch and a visit to the local yarn shop along with a gift card with my pal Laura, a long afternoon of coffee and gallery visit with my pal Susan, a hike and an afternoon of reading at Pilot Mt. with Gerry and Wesley, weekend visits from Wesley, breakfast on Franklin St. and a walk on campus with Gerry one morning when the temperature was almost 70 degrees, and the most fun thing, listening as Gerry gets better and better on the guitar we gave him for Christmas. He practices every day and he's getting good pretty fast. Just over a month ago he didn't even know a chord and now he is playing along with The Foo Fighters! So cool!
All this in just one month! I have such a great year to look forward to if the first month is any indication. These are the things that make life so joyful and I feel truly blessed to have so many interesting people come into my life. Thanks to all of you!!!
BTW, I cut off the yarn projects that I have been working on this month and they really suck. I have a post ready for that later this week! No worries, I'm not upset about it, lots of lessons there in the doing.

I love how this blogging world works. You discovered eb while searching for something new (and I love how you described that!). I discovered you through eb when you won the giveaway. It's a great circle that continues to flow! I'm happy for you that you won these treasures.

fiber is just coming to you.
Sweet!
I quit putting my name in after 2 times that I sent off my stuff but the persons who posted me as a win sent nothing.
One of these has now been 2 years. I even contacted them and the response was I want it to be an unexpected surprise... well after 2 years it sure would be.

Delighted indeed! Thanks again

Well if you get something after two years, it certainly will be unexpected, haha! Shame on them, it's so fun to receive another artists work if they put as much thought into it as EB did.
Yes,fiber is sailing my way, but what to do with it is still to be seen....
