Would love to see a photo of you on one of yours.
Congrats on your grant. You'll be glad you have the gas kiln.
I took a workshop with Lana Wilson - who says with gas, the kiln does all the work & with electric you have to do all the work. I still have two boards, maybe I'll get my daughter to take some pictures of me on it one of these days. I am in that community kiln situation right now. I received a grant from the Arts Council here to build my own gas kiln, just trying to get all of the funds and details worked out. Wish I had seen your ^6 first, I might have tried for a skutt instead!Tracey Broomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14560971496423789576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3393740465996795163.post-88917239682067810472008-09-08T14:06:00.000-07:002008-09-08T14:06:00.000-07:00Tracey - thanks for your sweet words about my webp...Tracey - thanks for your sweet words about my webpage & glazes! My husband designed my webpage -- but it's so hard to get him to do updates though -ha-ha.

When I first started making pots I was in a community with a gas reduction kiln. I'd make my pot - leave it on a shelf, come back & it would be bisqued. Then I'd dunk in a bucket of glaze & come back & it would be fired. I felt so removed from my work. I knew I wanted that reduction look - cause I like matte, earthy glazes. My skutt kiln didn't begin to give me what I wanted at first. It's taken a long time & many glaze workshops to even get started. I have access to a gas kiln & soda kiln but I'm not interested anymore. I want to keep focused on ^6.

I think the 'glaze-quest' is an ongoing one no matter how you fire. My kiln is cooling now & hopefully I'll get a couple of glazes I like. I'll post photos tomorrow.

I'm still picturing you skateboarding! -- It's a good image!Judy Shrevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13817638135856406785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3393740465996795163.post-45684909871619695902008-09-08T05:12:00.000-07:002008-09-08T05:12:00.000-07:00I love your 'random' comments.
