Project Runway

So I will just go ahead and say, Yes, I have a shallow side, and that shallow side LOVES Project Runway. I'm getting a quick blog post in before the season premiere which will be on in 5 minutes(they are actually doing a count down on Lifetime). This is just about the only thing I watch on TV, I mostly hate network programing and I miss 24, the other show I used to watch. What in the world has happened to TV? We are watching re runs of Mary Tyler Moore and Andy Griffith, so better than what's on now, or we have it on Pandora. So anyway...
When I was in high school I made a lot of my own clothes. I lived for the new Vogue magazine to hit the newsstand, and I read it like a Bible. I would cut out pictures and try to create those images in my own outfits. I mostly went to school looking like some freak artist (wait, I WAS a freak artist) but God bless my mom, she let me go to school any way I wanted and never said one word. I rode with my neighbor to school every day and at least once a week her mom made her go back to her room to change because she didn't have a belt in her belt loops or she didn't have a shirt tucked in to her perfectly pressed khakis. Lord, her mom must have wondered what drug my mom was on, letting me out of the house with scarves tied around my head, fringe boots, and skirts that did NOT allow me to bend at all.
Anyway, YAY! Another season of Project Runway!! Do I have any company? And don't you just love Tim Gunn?

Oh when we had satellite TV I too loved this show. Mark and my son asked why- it was not all the drama and petty stuff it was the Challenge and problem solving that I was in to.
How does one get from point a to z.
I think that is what we do as potters and I loved seeing it come out as clothes.
So watch for me!

My guilty pleasure is Gordon Ramsey. Yeah the cooking shows. OK, I said it.

Oh YEAH! Gordon, what a fun ass to watch! I like the problem solving with PR too Meredith, but the dram is pretty funny.

Since they moved to Lifetime I missed two or three seasons, but I finally caught last night's premiere. (Part of it anyway, I have to watch the rest tonight) That woman from Trinidad will probably win the whole thing, she can barely sew...
I used to watch so many of the Bravo shows, but haven't kept up with them, and I watched Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, F word for a while, but they are too predictable.
Tim Gunn was on George Lopez' show Tue. night. I really like TIm, he's like the last bastion of politeness and protocol, I wish his messsage would catch on more... I like his book too, he's really a very private person, who has had fame thrust upon him.

I love Project Runway and Tim Gunn. I think it is fascinating to watch the creative process, and how the contestants respond to the challenges. Each week it is interesting to see who is able to step up their game. I wish they would spend less time on the drama and more time on the creation of the garments, tho.

I am not, however, "Sports Blogger." That's a Google error of some kind.

I love Project Runway. Even last time when the woman who won was such a dissappointment, I knew I'd keep watching. Especially fun this time because one young guy (Anthony?) on the show is from our city and just graduated from LSU.

Jackie, I KNOW! If I were one of the people that had tried out and lost to her I would be so pissed off! Hey, I was wondering why a "sports blogger" was commenting on project runway :) But yes, I agree, Tim Gunn is a rare breed and we should all try to be more like him!
Barbara I was soooo disappointed when that Gretchen bitch won last year!! I read all kinds of blogs from angry viewers about it, what in the world were the judges thinking!

Yeah I know -- While the woman from Trinidad seems like a natural sewer, those pants weren't THAT great. I thought the fit looked like the model was wearing a fanny pack in front. I was surprised that the judges were all over how great the fit was :)

no cable or satellite dish here... we stream movies & some tv shows. i think the only things i have seen in recent years are the office, 30 rock and nip/tuck. i think everyone deserves some sort of "escape" entertainment!

Michele I can honestly tell you that you aren't missing much! There is nothing on any more!

Tracey ... I HATE Tim Gunn. Really. And I know this means I must have actually watched that show a few times, though not lately. Otherwise, why would I have an opinion? Is it possible that there is a more vacuous red-carpet interviewer at the Oscars than Mr. Gunn? Sorry, sorry, sorry ... I remain a big Tracey Broome fan, however ...

Hollis, I understand. Gerry makes fun of him too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion here in my blog world!!
