I'm starting to think about how I want my booth to be set up for the Carolina Designer Craftsmen show in November. When I'm out, I'm keeping my open for things that might work for me. I found this very cool shelf at an antique mall the other day, I like the way the pickets in the back look like little houses. I'm thinking I want my booth to be rustic, with white peeling paint and burlap fabrics. I don't have any shelves yet, I'll probably have to build something. This is the most fun part of shows for me since I used to be a set designer, I get my decorating fix setting up my booth.
I also found this very cool old ice cream maker. The blue color is the exact same as my new terra sig color. Guess I should make some ice cream buckets!
I was able to get a full day in the studio, got three barns made that I am very happy with and just for fun, made a pinch pot cup like the ones Laura is making. Good news is that Laura will have absolutely no competition from me in the cup area. I just about pulled myself apart putting the handle on. Why don't I ever remember that I hate making cups!!! I'll just have to enjoy the cups other people make!

you have a fantastic eye for props! did you fire the decals on?
Hey Laura, not yet, need to get some more work for the kiln. Linda, the orange is redart terra sig, it really does add the pop I need.
Ice ream BOWLS to go with the ice cream maker. Tea cups not mugs.
Nay on the ice cream bowls, I'm not going down the functional path for awhile! Too treacherous: pinholes, underfire, overfire, crazing, need I say more :) Good idea though!
Love seeing your work all on display...I'm thinking display as well for my show in October. I'd love to have a big old wooden hutch! But not very practical!
I know Anna, trying to find nice things that are also easy to transport is difficult!
I love the shelves but I do think about transporting them. My shelves come apart and assemble easily with a cordless screwdriver. I keep some wooden matches with me in case a screw hole needs repair.
I love the shelf, I found a ladder bookshelf in black that I hope to use in my big show in October. Is there anyone who likes making handles for cups?? I doubt it.
how lucky for you to have a set design background, if any of the shows you do score booths, i am sure you will get a great one! i find setting up a booth with walls, etc. so much work for just a day or two of business.
Nancy - i maybe of the minority, but i have come to enjoy pulling handles on mugs.
You'll have a killer booth Tracey. I love what you're doing these days. Keep up the good work.
a bit of color in there to draw the eye will bring them in- but then again the pots will do that.
Hi everyone! Sorry I'm behind on replies, I have been out all day, thanks for the comments :)
Those decals look fantastic with your work! And You are the pro with props! That terra sig/ icecream color is a beauty!
